(Honolulu-AP) -- Mrs. Utah made a run at the Mrs. America crown. Rachelle Joseph of Salt Lake City was the first runner-up in last night's pageant in Hawaii.
The winner was Mrs. Missouri Heidi Dinan in the 27th annual pageant. She won more than 100-thousand dollars worth of cash and prizes and the right to represent the United States at the Mrs. World competition in December.
Mrs. New York was second runner-up, followed by Mrs. New Jersey and Mrs. District of Columbia.
The pageant was hosted by actress Florence Henderson, who played mom Carol on "The Brady Bunch," and actor Hal Linden of the TV series "Barney Miller."
