(Salt Lake City-AP) -- A man whose body was found in the Layton foothills earlier this week has been identified as a 46-year-old Oklahoma man who apparently told relatives last month he was going to live in the mountains.

Police say 46-year-old Keith Watts had no permanent address.

His remains were identified using dental records.

Watts was visiting relatives in Layton in early August, but left at some point, saying he wanted to live in the mountains.

The decomposed remains were found Tuesday after a homeowner notified police her dog had brought in what appeared to be a fragment of clothing, authorities said.

The state Office of the Medical Examiner has not released an official cause of death.
