PROVO, Utah (AP) -- A Utah County bank employee accused in the theft of a customer's credit card now faces federal charges.
Tara Whitelock is facing one count of embezzlement by a bank employee. If convicted --- she faces up to 30 years in federal prison and up to $1 million fine.
Court documents say Whitlock was a loan officer at the Far West Bank in Provo between December 2000 and April 2005. During that time, court records say Whitelock is accused of using a bank customer's credit line to direct funds to other bank accounts in which Whitelock was a signatory.
In all --- more than $100,000 were stolen from the credit card line.
