PLAIN CITY, Utah (AP) -- A candidate for the Plain City Council has been accused of throwing beer bottles at the homes of Mayor Glen Willie, a councilman and a city employee.

Gordon A. Sorensen, 59, was charged July 25 and arraigned Sept. 9 on three counts of disorderly conduct.

Sorensen pleaded innocent and a pretrial hearing is set for Oct. 14. He was granted a 30-day period to prepare his case because he is acting as his own lawyer, according to court records.

Sorensen failed to attend Tuesday's meet-the-candidate night and could not be reached at home for comment.
