SALT LAKE CITY - As part of an on-going project to repair highway joints along Interstate 15, the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is asking motorists to avoid traveling near the "Spaghetti Bowl" this weekend. The following ramp closures and restrictions will be in place beginning Friday, Oct. 3 at 8 p.m. through Monday, Oct. 6 at 6 a.m.:

  1. State St. on-ramp to WB I-80
  2. WB I-80 to SB I-15 (this closure will begin at 1 a.m. Saturday)
  3. WB I-80 to WB S.R. 201 (this closure will begin at 1 a.m. Saturday)
  4. WB S.R. 201 on-ramps at 700 W. and 900 W.

Signed detour routes will be in place for each ramp closure. Travelers to the University of Utah football game and LDS General Conference should be aware of the restrictions.

Motorists are advised to visit http://www.commuterlink.utah.gov and to call 511, Utah's free Travel Information Line, to find the latest construction and road condition updates.

UDOT urges motorists to reduce speeds when driving through work zones. Work schedules are subject to change due to inclement weather, equipment problems or emergency situations.
