SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Two people were killed when their plane crashed Friday in the Boulder Mountains near Big Lake in Garfield County.

The victims were identified as pilot Shane Warenski, 34, of Cedar Hills, and Joseph Eisel, 27, of Salina.

Warenski and Eisel took off Friday afternoon from Holbrook, Ariz., intent on getting home to their families despite scattered rainstorms in the Garfield County area, The Salt Lake Tribune reported Sunday.

Family members and co-workers told the newspaper that weather and Warenski's limited flying experience were likely factors in the crash.
