(Draper-AP) -- Traffic's back to normal after an accident shut down the northbound lanes of Interstate-15 this morning.
The accident happened in the Sandy-Draper area.
The Utah Highway Patrol says Lisa Osborne was driving an S-U-V southbound on I-15 when she lost control of her car, crossed the median and hit an oncoming Jeep Grand Cherokee head-on in the northbound lanes.
Keith Erdel was driving the Jeep and was airlifted to the University of Utah Medical Center.
He's in intensive care with severe head injuries and broken bones.
Osborne was transported by ambulance with non-life threatening head and torso injuries.
Officers say Osborne lost control after she ran over a rear dual axle that fell off a semi-tractor trailer and into the road.
