Kim Johnson ReportingMost expecting parents can expect to spend a lot of those nine months reading about the changes mom is going to go through, how the baby develops, and how important dad is in this process.
It can be time consuming and a little overwhelming, but some childbirth educators have come up with an alternative. One that not only gets the important messages across, but makes the learning process a lot of fun.
Pregnancy is off to a rough start for Carri Krystosek, at least in play. She's expecting her second child in December. Julie Ticcioni's third baby is due later this month. This time the two mothers to be are learning their lessons a whole new way - a board game called "Who's Having This Baby Anyway?"
Julie & Jeff Ticcioni, Expectant Parents: “We had a blast. Yeah it was a lot of fun. A lot of information in there that even with the third child you still pick up on.”
That information comes across with every card and every move. There are no questions so you can't get anything wrong, just tidbits about each trimester and labor. The winner is the first one to deliver their baby.
Parents-to-be aren't the only ones buying the game. Universities, nursing schools and childbirth educators as far away as the United Kingdom are placing orders, and they make great shower gifts too.
