(Brian Head-AP) -- Firefighters say the wind grabbed a prescribed burn that got briefly out of control. It happened near the town of Brian Head Wednesday in the mountains of Iron County.
Firefighters were conducting the controlled burn around three p-m in a clearing where residents of the resort town could dump brush and trees that were cleared off their property.
The blaze got out of control when afternoon winds picked up. Flames came within 100 feet of the Copper Chase condominium complex.
Firefighters from Cedar City, Parowan, and Paragonah worked with the Brian Head firefighters to control it.
There's no word on how many acres burned.
