Karen Scullin reporting A dispute between neighbors ends in gun fire on Salt Lake's west side, near 3969 South Chatterleigh Road.
One man is in the hospital in stable condition, another is in custody being questioned by police.

Police say the two neighbors live a couple of houses apart and had been in an ongoing dispute for some time.
This morning about 9:15 the two ended up in a confrontation--it's not known if the suspect walked over his neighbors house, intent on killing him --or if it escalated from a heated argument to a shooting.
Investigators say multiple shots were fired---there were some witnesses at the scene.

The suspect left the scene of the shooting and was identified a short time later as the gunman.
Police have never had to answer a call to the address where the shooting happened until this morning.
But again--a dispute between neighbors ends in gunfire--one man is being treated for his injuries--another is in police custody.
