CEDAR CITY, Utah (AP) -- Police have arrested a 22-year-old man in the alleged rape of a 13-year-old runaway girl.
Brigido Padilla-Perez was charged with rape of a child, a first-degree felony.
Police Sgt. Dave Holm said the girl and another female runaway went to Padilla-Perez's house to visit.
"During the course of the evening, the 13-year-old victim was allegedly forced into a bedroom where she was allegedly raped," Holm said.
He said the other female was in the apartment at the time but was unaware of what allegedly took place.
Police were notified of the missing girls' location by one girl's parents, and it was while pursuing that call that police discovered the alleged rape Sunday, Holm said.
