(KSL News) -- Prosecutors today charged a foster mother with killing her eighteen month old baby. Jeannette Gomez is accused of criminal homicide and child abuse.
Court documents show investigators believe that on October 22nd Gomez became frustrated when the child wouldn't stop crying. Investigators say she threw or dropped the child twice. The court filings also indicate she shook the baby boy.
Gomez first told police the child fell from its crib and hit his head.
Kent Morgan, Chief Deputy District Attorney: "There are a number of blunt force trauma injuries that would indicate something more than just two separate injuries to the child. So I think the reasonable inference, and that's for the jury to decide, is that there was a great deal of frustration that was taken out on this child."
Bail has been set at one million dollars.
