SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Halloween may look a lot more like Christmas in some parts of Utah.
A cold front moved into Utah late Wednesday, and brought with it up to 5 inches of snow over the northern parts of the Beehive State.
The National Weather Service reported 5 inches of snow had fallen in Smithfield near the Idaho border by Thursday morning. There also was 4 inches of snow on the ground in Logan, about 70 miles north of Salt Lake City in northern Utah.
A snow advisory was to be issued Thursday morning for the northern Wasatch Front, Cache Valley, and the Wasatch Mountains north of Interstate 80. Those areas could expect between 3 to 6 inches of snow Thursday, the service said. Salt Lake City is expected to receive nothing more than light snow.
