(Salt Lake City-AP) -- Four Utah firefighters headed to California to help fight the fires should get there sometime today.
The South Salt Lake Fire Department firefighters left yesterday afternoon to join thousands of other fire crews battle the hundreds of thousands of acres on fire in the Golden State.
The crew is headed to San Diego where the Cedar Fire is burning, and call it the assignment of a lifetime.
They're driving there in a fire engine and a pickup truck.
More than a-half dozen fires are still burning in four counties. Fires in the past week have killed at least 20 people, destroyed more than 28-hundred homes and burned nearly three-quarters of a (m) million acres.
