(Ogden-AP) -- Ogden police say a 38-year-old woman has been arrested in the stabbing of a man during an argument reportedly over sunflower seeds.

The 33-year-old victim was stabbed three times but was recovering at McKay-Dee Hospital from the wounds to his back. The weapon had not been determined.

The victim said that both he and the assailant were intoxicated at the time of the stabbing Tuesday night in an apartment building.

The altercation began in one apartment and moved into the hallway, where he was stabbed. A witness said a man threw the victim down a flight of stairs to get him away from the woman.

Police said the argument involved sunflower seeds but the witness did not know the details of the argument.

The woman was booked into the Weber County Jail for investigation of aggravated assault, intoxication and assault on a police officer. The report said she began kicking the arresting officer in the thigh while being transported.
