(Lehi-AP) -- A Lehi family walks in on a man burglarizing their home.
It happened Sunday. The family was returning home when the suspected burglar was still inside. The homeowner yelled for the man to get out, and the suspect took off through the back door and escaped in a pick-up truck.
Police caught up with the 23-year old suspect and were arresting him when he kicked a K-nine officer.
The police dog was injured in the shoulder and will be recovering for the next 10 days.
Police found the suspect with prescription pills, and an undisclosed amount of money taken from the home.
He was booked into the Utah County jail. Officers say he's also a suspect in a number of other burglaries in the Lehi area.
