Sandy Police Raid Suspected Meth House

Early this morning SWAT officers stormed a home at 1465 E. 11890 S. in Sandy, serving a search warrant on suspected drug manufacturing inside. The house is in an area that residents call a great neighborhood and say the drug house stood out.

Investigators say they have been looking at this house for several weeks after getting numerous complaints from neighbors about suspicious activity. Detectives began investigating and yesterday got enough evidence to get a search warrant. About 5:30 this morning SWAT members raided the house.

Sgt. Michelle Burnette, Sandy City Police Department: "Numerous calls on this house. Lots of neighbors have been involved and it's a community effort to get this house cleaned up and the criminal activity stopped."

Three people were arrested inside the house, two others who left the house were also arrested. Investigators found methamphetamine, also packaging and scales which can be used to distribute the illegal drugs. Investigators say they found enough drugs to pursue charges of distributing methamphetamines.

All of the suspects were released after being questioned by police and charges against them are now being screened by prosecutors.
