(West Valley City-AP) -- The little boy killed after being shot in the head by his brother is identified as three-year old Ryker Lambert.

Ryker was shot after he and his four-year brother found the keys to a safe, unlocked it and found a gun inside.

The four-year old told police he was holding the gun when it went off.

Police say the boys' mother was sleeping after her night shift as an armed security guard and the children were unsupervised from about eight-thirty a-m until noon Tuesday.

The gun is believed to be their mother's work weapon.

The four-year old woke up his mother around noon and told her about the shooting. She called paramedics, but when they got there the boy was already dead.

Police have ruled the shooting accidental.
