(Salt Lake City-AP) -- The day-care provider for a one-year-old boy rushed to the hospital last week has been arrested on child abuse charges.
Abagail Tiscareno, operator of Abby's Child Care, was taken into custody without incident today. She is being held in the Summit County Jail on second degree felony child abuse. No formal charges have been filed.
The boy remains in critical condition at Primary Children's Medical Center.
The boy was dropped off by his father at the day care early Friday morning. Tiscareno told health department officials that she picked up the crying baby later that morning to feed him and noticed his body was "loose" as he spit up milk.
In a court hearing Tuesday, the infant's two-year-old brother -- placed in DCFS custody Friday -- was returned to his father.
