John Amaechi is the first NBA player to come out and say he's gay. He spoke to ESPN about how the NBA doesn't embrace his lifestyle.
John Amaechi: "It's very almost ancient Greek in its philosophy. It is the pinnacle of man. That's what people think. Men women want to be with, and men men want to be like, or something like that."
The interview airs this Sunday. Amaechi has written a book called "Man in the Middle" about his experiences. He spent two seasons with the Jazz and calls Salt Lake City the "hippest, gayest place east of San Francisco."
