Jill Atwood ReportingA four day weekend, lots of snow, and plenty of tourists equals a big weekend for some retailers and resorts. It seems just about everyone had the same thing on their minds this weekend; either they were skiing or they were shopping.

The snow may be melting in the valley, but up top it's still good, and surrounding businesses selling equipment are loving it.

Anja Paerson, Sweden, World Cup Winner: "Well my GS is always improving in Park City, and every year I'm doing top five podium and a win now. So I really like this hill, it’s really exciting."

The World Cup event brought the athletes and the spectators mountainside. The blue skies and fluffy snow brought families from all over.

ColeSport rents skis and sells clothing; business has been brisk and spirits high.

Scott Ford, ColeSport: "People have just been waiting for an excuse to get excited about skiing again. And now this early snow, not so much early snow, but the quality and quantity of snow has really brought the excitement back up."

We're told Main Street was bustling all weekend as well from window shoppers to chocolate lovers.

Eric Ribeiro, Park City Information: "They ask a lot of questions about Park City. What to do here, and where is good for skiing, where is good for snowboarding."

Retailers are optimistic this is a sign of things to come, as long as we can keep the snow coming. And this actually not really the busy time for Park City; of course the Sundance Film Festival is when things really heat up. But all the resorts doing well along the Wasatch Front.
