(KSL News) A Wyoming child died of complications from influenza today, while being flown to Primary Children's Hospital.
Meanwhile, the State Health Department expects to find out later this week whether some cases of the flu in Utah are from a sub-set of influenza not fully protected by the flu vaccine.
In other parts of the country, people who've had a flu shot are getting sick with what the CDC has identified as a variant or drift of a strain not covered in this year's vaccine.
But epidemiologists say even then, the sickness tends to be much MILDER in those who've HAD their flu shots.
So the recommendation remains - GET a shot if you haven't had one.
