(Salt Lake City-AP) -- A Wyoming child may be the first suspected flu death reported to the Utah Department of Health.

The child died while being flown to Primary Children's Medical Center.

Utah Health officials still don't know whether there were other factors involved with her death.

Meanwhile, the number of influenza cases in Utah has already surpassed the number reported all of last year. Health officials say about 745 of the state's 850 cases are in Salt Lake County.

There were only 697 cases reported last year.

The increase has prompted state health officials to ask people, especially children and pregnant or nursing mothers, to get vaccinated.
