(Salt Lake City-AP) -- The man accused of kidnapping a 19-year old woman at gunpoint over the weekend has been charged with aggravated kidnapping.
Police say 22-year old Benjamin Marques followed 19-year old Alma Olivia Majarrez out of the parking lot of a convenience store early Sunday morning.
He stopped her and ordered her into his car at gunpoint.
An off-duty officer on Interstate-15 saw Marques' car driving erratically and the two fighting inside. When Marques pulled over onto the side of the highway, the off-duty officer pulled over. Marques was arrested soon after.
He was also charged with two counts of aggravated assault, obstructing justice and tampering with a witness. All of the charges are felonies.
