(Syracuse-AP) -- There's a grinch on the loose in Syracuse.
Someone stole an eight-foot, self-inflating Grinch off a woman's front porch Tuesday. The Dr. Seuss character usually makes it into the family Christmas card each year.
The family put him out Monday and says the culprit even took the time to untie him and unplug him, before making off with him.
But police say that's not the first blow-up decoration reported missing in the neighborhood. The thief also took an eight-foot self-inflating snowman from a resident a few blocks away.
Police say the Grinch-nabbers could face criminal charges if they're caught.
They believe the culprits are teenagers. Although, police do say that usually the number-one lawn decoration that disappears is the baby Jesus.
