(Layton-AP) -- Two students are in the hospital with serious injuries after a car plowed into them while they were trying to catch their school bus.
The teenagers were walking in the crosswalk when they were hit around seven this morning.
Witnesses say the car didn't slow or brake for the girls as they crossed the street.
They were catching a bus to Layton High School. The bus was stopped in traffic with its warning lights flashing. One of the girls was flown to the hospital with serious injuries. The other was transported by ground to the hospital.
Police say the driver is a 33-year old Layton resident. There's no word yet on if he will be charged. Layton police are investigating.
