SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The House has given the OK to a measure that allows the Utah Department of Health to create a preferred drug list for the state's Medicaid program.

Although the bill underwent several amendments on the Senate floor --- the House easily approved it yesterday. Senate Bill 42 was passed with a 70-to-1 vote.

The program is estimated to save the state nearly $3 million the first year --- and eventually up to $10 million a year.
