(KSL News) -- A meals-on-wheels driver discovered fire and smoke engulfing the home of an elderly couple near Spanish Fork this morning.
Annabelle Shepherd did not know there was a fire until she opened the door to a billow of smoke and heat that blew her back.
She ran to the back door, and discovered the man dead on the porch. Sheperd called firefighters who rescued an elderly woman in critical condition inside.
Investigators say the fire could have started from a wood-burning stove.
