Karen Scullin reporting A birthday party ends in flames after a Christmas tree catches fire.
It happened in student housing complex in Provo, but no one was hurt.

Firefighters say the victim's in last night's fire are very lucky they were able to escape.
About ten last night two women called the fire department ---when firefighters arrived they say flames and smoke were pouring out of the windows.
It appears the two were celebrating a birthday with a sparkler instead of a candle ---and the sparkler caught the Christmas tree on fire. The victims say the tree was consumed by flames in seconds.
Most of the apartment was severely damaged --the women's clothing and electronic items were burned. Firefighters say the tree was dry and brittle --- and burned even faster than if it were still green. They recommend everyone throw out trees if they are in that condition.

They remind people to never, ever light fireworks inside a home.
