(KSL News) -- South Jordan Middle School students are all shook up when they get a real-life disaster lesson.
9th graders hopped in the "quake cottage" to feel what it's like to be in an earthquake.

The machine simulates the three-dimensional thrusting movement of an earthquake.

The experience promotes earthquake safety and is in-line with what the students are currently learning about plate tectonics.
