(Las Vegas, NV-AP) -- A former Mormon missionary has been indicted on felony sex assault and lewdness charges involving two young girls at a Las Vegas church.

21-year-old John Missleldine is free today on 35-thousand dollars bail after the indictment was unsealed yesterday in Clark County District Court.

He's due for arraignment December 23rd on charges of sexual assault of a minor under 14, and two counts of lewdness with a child under 14.

Misseldine's from Little Rock, Arkansas.

He's accused of sexually assaulting a seven-year-old girl and fondling the girl's four-year-old sister while was babysitting them during services May third at a Mormon church in Las Vegas.

His lawyer says the case is weak -- and that's why prosecutors took it to a grand jury behind closed doors.
