(Salt Lake City-AP) -- A suspect who crashed into a deputy's cruiser before fleeing on foot is still on the run.

Salt Lake County deputies began chasing 34-year old Michael Norman on outstanding warrants for theft, D-U-I and domestic violence early this morning.

When one of the deputies pulled out into an intersection to block him, the suspect rammed the cruiser head on at speeds of between 50 and 60 miles an hour.

Norman fled on foot and officers are still looking for him.

The deputy was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Sheriff's spokeswoman Peggy Faulkner says Norman will face new charges after this morning's chase.
