(Midvale-AP) -- An Albertson's Food and Drug store in Midvale was evacuated for several hours last evening after the robber of a nearby shoe store was reported to have entered the grocery store.

Salt Lake County sheriff's officers say the man had demanded money from a Payless Shoesource store. He then reportedly was spotted walking or running into the Albertson's.

Deputies searched the store and a man was spotted trying to get out a back exit, but disappeared back inside.

They then evacuated the store and searched it with police dogs but did not find the man.

They found clothing in a men's restroom and believe the robber may have changed clothes.
