(Salt Lake City-AP) -- There are white-out conditions on Interstate-80 between Salt Lake City and Nevada. Utah Department of Transportation officials say the wind is hampering snow plows' efforts. UDOT spokesman Nile Eastman says the wind's blowing the snow across the freeway as quickly as they plow it.
Eastman says about 250 snow plow drivers out at any given time and drivers are taking naps between shifts.
At least 50 accidents have been reported on Interstate-15 between Salt Lake and Davis Counties this morning.
And the snow has shut down access to Little Cottonwood Canyon. Big Cottonwood Canyon opened a short time ago, but there are traffic backups reported in the area.
