(Ogden, Utah-AP) -- A truck driver who crashed into barriers on Interstate-15 and dumped steel beams in the path of traffic was arrested for drunken driving.

Terry Lane Barnett was hauling steel beams from Moscow, Tennessee to Logan, Utah.

Barnett sideswiped barriers on both sides of Interstate-15 last night and dumped steel beams in the roadway.

Four cars hit the beams, and two of them were forced into the median.

Barnett didn't stop to check his rig or help other drivers.

State troopers found him at a nearby truck stop. They also found three open beer cans in his cab.

Barnett tested nearly 21/2 times the legal limit in a sobriety test.

He was booked into Weber County jail for D-U-I.

Northbound traffic was diverted off I-15 at 31st Street in Ogden for two hours. And one lane was closed for another three hours as the steel beams were removed.
