(Salt Lake City-AP) -- Worried about the snow piled on your roof?

Salt Lake County building official Del Swensen says don't go up there and try to remove the snow.

He says more people get hurt trying to get the snow off and it's better just to leave it alone.

Swensen says that in most cases, roofs made out of trusses can handle as much snow as can be piled on them.

He says older homes may have problems, but those usually don't present themselves before snow levels exceed three feet.
