(Salt Lake City-AP) -- It wasn't the smartest move by a pair of alleged bank robbers.
Brittany Ann McDermott and Russell John Bloss are accused of walking into a Wells Fargo Bank on December 26 and handing the teller a demand note on the back of McDermott's personal check. It said they had a gun and to put all the money in a bank bag.
The pair in their 20s left the bank with 13-hundred dollars, which they later told police they wanted to use to pay a drug debt and purchase cell phones and clothing.
Witnesses gave police the pair's license plate number as they drove away. But the name on the registration was what gave it away. It was the same name as on the personal check.
