(KSL News) -- If you are close to someone serving in the military, this is one of those days filled with pride, and sadness.
The 1-211th Aviation Regiment of the Utah National Guard has been preparing for the last month after being called to active duty. And today it was time for families to say goodbye.
Col. Cluff Utah National Guard: I'm proud of these soldiers for the work that they've done in the last 2 1/2 months. I'm proud that they signed up to serve their country."
This group is part of the 500 National Guard soldiers departing this week for more training.
After that, they will serve overseas to support the war in Iraq.
