(KSL News) – An unknown driver causes an eight-car pile-up on I-15 delaying traffic for hours.
An unknown driver was headed south on I-15 around 600 North this morning. The driver made a sudden lane switch, took the off ramp, and drove away. The drivers following the car tried to slow down, but couldn't stop fast enough...causing three seperate car crashes.

Utah Highway Patrol Troopers had to close the off-ramp and two of the three lanes while they cleaned up the mess.
They say the accident couldn't have happened at a worse time... in the middle of the morning commute.
Sgt. Brin Nelson/Utah Highway Patrol: "It has really messed it up. We've got traffic backed up... trying to open it up as soon as we can."
Troopers had the roads cleared after about two hours.

Four people were taken to the hospital with minor neck and back injuries.
