SALT LAKE CITY -- Salt Lake City police are trying to determine exactly what happened at an alleged home-invasion robbery Monday morning.
Three men entered the home, tied up the man inside, took items from inside and got away in his car.
Officers are now looking into whether the victim knew the suspects or if this was a random crime.
"It does happen that we have a situation that looks all sideways, and we chase down all the information, and in the end it's exactly the way the person said it was. And that could be the case here. But this is not as simple as many cases are," Salt Lake City police Lt. Craig Gleason said.
The victim was not injured in the robbery. The car was found several blocks away, but there were no signs of the suspects.
