The Following is a Press Release from Motor Trend Auto ShowsSANDY, UT – The Utah International Auto Expo will jump-start the 2004-model year with the latest automotive designs and technological advancements. Open to the public Friday, January 16 through Monday, January 19, 2004 (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day), the show will feature hundreds of 2004-model vehicles, pre-production models, concept cars and much more. Covering 285,000 square-feet, the show will transform the South Towne Exposition Center into an automotive wonderland.

"The Utah Auto Expo provides an opportunity for all of the dealers in the state, as well as the manufacturers, to come together and showcase the new makes and models for the 2004 season," said Auto Expo Chairman Kirk Schneider. "While we aren’t selling vehicles at this event, it does kick-off the auto-buying season in Utah."

As always, the show provides attendees with the convenience of viewing all the new models under one roof. In this non-selling environment, attendees are invited to sit in the driver’s seats, inspect engines and compare legroom on a host of new vehicles.

"Total annual new vehicle-sales in Utah is over $4 billion, making up 20 percent of the retail sales in the state," said Craig Bickmore, executive director of the Utah Automobile Dealers Association. "The auto show is an important start to the year, as it allows attendees to prepare for their next vehicle purchase. With all of the new models on display, the show provides a perfect research venue to compare hundreds of vehicles."

Show-goers will have the opportunity to check out hundreds of all-new 2004 models and get a sneak-peek at several 2005 models yet to hit dealer showrooms. Among the list of auto show "must-sees" are the 2005 Ford Freestyle, the 2005 Ford Five Hundred and several new 2004 models including the Audi A8L, Chrysler Crossfire, Nissan Titan, Scion xB, Toyota Tundra Double Cab and the Volkswagen Touareg – Motor Trend’s 2004 Sport/Utility of the Year. These hot vehicles represent just a few of the hundreds of cars, trucks and SUVs set to fill the South Towne Convention Center.

Several cutting-edge concept cars will be making their Utah debuts at the auto show including the Lincoln Navicross Concept, Chevrolet Silverado SEMA concept and the Chevrolet Malibu Xtreme SEMA concept. These concept cars are test beds for out-of-this-world design ideas and forward thinking technologies, offering attendees a sneak-peek at possible production vehicles of the future. Revving up excitement at the show is a collection of high-end exotic cars, courtesy of Steve Harris Imports. This year’s line-up includes the latest breath-taking vehicles from Ferrari and Maserati, including the all-new Ferrari Enzo. Named after the legendary creator, Enzo Ferrari, this $670,000, 660-horsepower super car is the successor to the F50. Ferrari often refers to the Enzo as Race Car Driver Michael Schumacher’s three-time, world-championship-winning Ferrari F1 car with a complete body.
