(KSL News) Delta Air Lines' emergence from bankruptcy will be good for Utah on several fronts, including taxes.
According to the Deseret Morning News, Delta Air Lines owes $4.3 million in county property taxes. That's almost 10 percent of total delinquent taxes in Salt Lake, Davis and Utah counties.
Utah bankruptcy law prevents Delta's property from being seized and auctioned.
As for now, Delta essentially has a low-cost loan from the counties and their residents.
Northwest Air Lines is number seven on the list, owing more than $275,000.
