(Logan-AP) -- Cody Lynn Nielsen is not taking the stand in his own defense and the defense has rested.
Nielsen's accused of kidnapping 15-year old Trisha Autry in June 2000, killing her, dismembering her body and burying it near a research lab where he worked.
Defense attorneys had indicated they would call Nielsen to testify but decided not to today when the trial got under way. The prosecution rested last Thursday but may call another witness to the stand this afternoon. And closing arguments could come soon.
If Nielsen's convicted of murdering Autry, he could face the death penalty.
