(Salt Lake City-AP) -- Utah Senator Bob Bennett had already left the building when a powdery substance was found in a Senate office building yesterday.

The Republican's spokeswoman says Bennett's office is on the same floor where the substance was found and his staff was evacuated and showed no signs of exposure.

Capitol police say preliminary tests on the white powder were positive for the potentially deadly poison ricin.

The powder was found at Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist's office mailroom yesterday on the fourth floor of the Kirksen Senate Office Building.

All three Senate office buildings will be closed today while tests are being conducted. The F-B-I is awaiting more conclusive test results before deciding whether to get more fully involved in the case.
