(Richfield-AP) -- A huge drug bust by the Utah Highway Patrol takes two-and-a-half million dollars worth of pot off the streets.
A semitrailer truck was stopped Tuesday for a commercial vehicle safety inspection just south of Richfield on Interstate-70. That's about 160 miles south of Salt Lake City.
U-H-P officers became suspicious of the driver and passenger and asked to search the trailer.
Officers found about seven-hundred pounds of marijuana inside. But the officers weren't done yet. They then used the two suspects in their 40s from California to set up a delivery in Denver, where six more people who showed up to claim the drugs were arrested.
Authorities say those arrested in Denver will face prosecution in Colorado.
