(West Jordan-AP) -- A student pilot and his instructor walked away without a scratch from a plane crash in West Jordan yesterday.
Police say 39-year-old Sam Cox and 23-year-old Nathan Taylor were on a training flight near Airport Number Two when the plane's engine quit.
The pilots were able to make an emergency landing in an open field, but deep snow caused their plane to overturn.
However, police say it also cushioned their landing, and may have helped them avoid injuries.
Investigators are trying to figure out what caused the plane's engine to fail.
