(Salt Lake City-AP) -- Senator Lyle Hillyard is in the hospital today for treatment for blood clots in one leg and his lungs.

Earlier today the Logan Republican was in the intensive care unit, but has been moved to a room at Logan Regional Hospital.

Hillyard suffers from high blood pressure.

Hospital officials won't comment on his condition or when he checked in. But members of the Legislature say he says he will be back at work on the Hill tomorrow.

Hillyard is an attorney and chairman of the Senate Rules committee, making him one of the most powerful lawmakers at the Capitol.
