(KSL News) -- A shoddy car license plate and a counterfeit registration decal land three women in custody after a car chase this morning.

Fake Registration Decal Leads to Chase

A motor vehicle department officer attempted to pull over the car after he noticed the license plate held on by wire. The driver sped away.

A car chase led onto the walking paths on the Jordan River parkway near 500 North, before the women ran on foot.

Inside the car, police found meth paraphernalia, marijuana, beer and a BB gun.

And on the license plate, a counterfeit '04 registration decal.

Police are holding the driver, Niko Singer, and passenger, Jody St. Germaine. Released on a misdemeanor was a third woman, Nichole Watson.
