(KSL News) A night of St. Patrick's Day celebrations ends with a hit and run in downtown Salt Lake.
Police say a man was injured when a driver hit him early this morning.
Officers say it all began with an argument at a local bar earlier that night. The suspect passed the victim and another person as they were walking home near Temple Square.
Witnesses told police the suspect then drove past them again, and deliberately swerved to hit the man.
Police say it appears a night of holiday celebartions may have gotten out of hand.
Sgt. Brian Bailey/ Salt Lake City Police Dept.: "It's St. Patrick's Day and a lot of people are out having a good time at the different bars and clubs. Sometimes they let their emotions get away from them when they've been drinking."
Officers are still searching for the suspect. His car is described as a silver Volkswagon with tinted windows.
The victim is recovering in an area hospital.
