(KSL News) -- Someone uncovered a ghastly sight at a park in Kearns this morning--a horse's head and a bag of internal horse organs.
Animal services officials think the animal was killed legitimately, so they're not pursing the case as animal cruelty.
They believe the head and organs were left in a public place for shock value.
Temma Martin, Salt Lake County Animal Services: "It was probably just somebody's sick sense of humor to take the horse's head and leave it in a place that would disturb and shock people."
Officials say someone may have taken the head and the body parts from a slaughtering shop near the park.
